Whilst the location may have changed, hot and humid conditions greeted the the Toronto Dingos & Hamilton Wildcats teams on Saturday, where the Dingos continued their strong start to the season, defeating the Wildcats 13.5 (83) to 04.03 (27).
The Wildcats drew first blood in this match-up, keen to make up for the embarrassing loss on their home deck last time these two teams matched up, kicking the first goal of the game. However, that would be the only major score they would get for the quarter as the Dingos midfield began to takeover the game in their now trademark fashion.
A flurry of forward entries from Brayden Beks, Keegan Hogarth, James Talbot & Harry Shelton saw forwards Ben Sinclair & Rob McNaughton snag a few of goals between them, whilst veteran Mick McFarlane also popped up for a snag as well.
The stingy Dingos defense featuring a mixture of veterans (Bocian & Wooten) & youth (Bergman, Williams and the Howell brothers) continued to make it hard for the Wildcats, busting their guts to halve every contest and repel the ball back with interest.
The start of second half saw some ill-discipline from the Dingos, giving away three 50 metre penalties and allowing the Wildcats to grab another goal. Despite this, the Dingos kept the game on their terms, continuing to dominate the midfield and easily turning defense into attack through solid defending.
