Dingos Captain Mike Bocian Reaches 100 Games for the Club

As we head into the match up against the Gargoyles, we’ve got a milestone to celebrate: it’s captain Mike Bocian’s 100th game for the Toronto Dingos Football.

On Saturday, Bocian will become the 19th Dingo in the club’s history to accomplish that feat. And reaching the milestone is harder now with less games being played each year: a decline from 15 AFL Ontario games per year some 10 years ago to 8 games currently.

"It's a great achievement. Mikey has persisted with his footy and will be able to celebrate this occasion with his mates," said Dingos president Justin Robertson. "Less than 20 players have been able to reach this feat. Hopefully when Mikey looks back on it, theres 100 games full of long-lasting memories."

Bocian, aka, “Sea Captain” and “Marto”, moved from Windsor to Toronto and through the persistence of Dingo Tim McKay, came to Balfour Park to try footy. Over the years Bocian has developed a gritty, lockdown key defender role. He also became a leader of the club. In 2017 he became captain of the club for his voice on the field and hard attack on the ball. He’s been the longest serving Canadian captain.

With that, congratulations Mikey on 100 games for the Toronto Dingos Football Club.

Go well on Saturday!
