The Toronto Dingos celebrated another amazing AFLO season on Saturday November 16th, holding their annual club awards night at sponsor Black Lab Brewing's bar.
The night kicked off recognizing this year's milestone man, Dan "Pistol" Gunn, before inducting two new life members. Gaz Conlan & Jimmy Duggan were both awarded life membership, joining the group of 18 members inducted over the last 29 years.
AFLO Team Of The Year Member Ben Sinclair took home his third straight Leading Goal Kicker title, kicking a total of 35 goals across the 2024 season, whilst Canadian Derek Bressette was honoured by the coaching staff for his commitment to training and improving his game receiving the Coach's Award.
Rookie Marco Williams was recognized by coach Justin Robertson for his dedication to his skills and development throughout the season, awarded the Most Improved Player Award.
Another first year Dingo, Keegan Hogarth, was voted this year's Player's Player by his teammates, being recognized for his on field efforts game in & game out. Social Media and Content wiz Derek Bressette took home his second award for the evening, being recognized for his off-field efforts taking home the Jacob Steinberg (Best Clubman) Award.
Second generation Dingo, Zach Shaw, took home the 2024 Rookie Of The Year Award after a stellar debut season from the 17 year old.
In no surprise to anyone in the room, first year Dingo and Daimin Bodnar Medalist Brayden Beks, took home the Australian Best & Fairest Award amassing a whopping 96 votes. For the second year running, Matteo Lugarini took home the Canadian/International Best & Fairest Award, seeing off two first year Dingos in James Talbot & Ludo Barrat in a close finish.
