Match Preview - Dingos vs Swans

The Toronto Dingos will battle the Ottawa Swans for the 2nd time this season. The previous meeting was in Ottawa where the Dingos left the Polo Club with an 11.8 (74)-3.6 (24) victory. Ben Sinclair led the way with 5 goals, while Matteo Lugarini earned the Black Lab Best on Ground Award.

Rob McNaughton returns to the lineup and will provide a big duel scoring threat with Sinclair at full forward. Mick McFarlane will also make his 2nd appearance of the season with Mattie Hastas, Michael Karas, and Leigh Dowling forming a strong group of forwards.

A new look ruck will feature Matt Howell as the ruckman with Ciaran Buckley and Chris Jepsen as the on-ballers. A midfield of Harry Shelton, Michael Ladd, and Greg Gilbert will provide the transition from defense to attack as the Dingos look to replicate the quick pace of play that has been key during the current 4 game winning streak.

Lugarini will lead a physical group of backs that also features captain Mike Bocian. Kurt Bell will make his first start for the Dingos in the back pocket alongside Andre Hyatt. Geoff Hansen and Justin Moore round out the group.

The bench will feature plenty of strong reinforcements including Francis Lecasse, Derek Bressette, Jay Shin, and Ben Moller.

The Dingos will be looking to extend the current winning streak to 5 games. A desire to win every contest, get their heads over the ball, good support, and precision kicking have led to the Dingos’ strong performances over the past month. All of this will once again be needed to earn a second win over the Swans in 2023.

First bounce is at 2pm at Humber College South.
