Match Preview: 2024 AFL Ontario Grand Final - Toronto Dingos vs. Toronto Rebels

In a repeat match up of last year's grand final, the Toronto Dingos will take on the Toronto Rebels this Saturday in the 2024 AFL Ontario Grand Final, with the winner set to hold the premiership cup aloft as 2024 champions.

After going down to the Dingos in the first week of finals, the Rebels had to take the scenic route to the final game of the season, facing off against the Toronto Eagles last week in the preliminary final. Despite having a lot of the ball the Eagles were unable to capitalize forward of centre, with the Rebels able to pick off the forward entries and launch into their attack from the defensive 50 and eventually walking away 48-point victors.

Despite having a weeks rest, the Dingos have not slowed down their intensity, with the pain of last year's grand final defeat still lingering amongst the playing group. The team have been hitting the track over the last two weeks to ensure everyone is fit and firing for the big game, and will be looking to get off to a good start come Saturday.

Last time they met... A fast start from the Rebels saw them get out to an early 2 goal lead, but as the backline began to work over their opponents and the midfield got clean hands on the footy the game began to turn the Dingos way.

The connection from backs, to midfielders, to forwards saw the Dingos take control of the contest, ultimately earning their spot in the 2024 AFL Ontario Grand Final, beating Rebels 8.5 (53) to 4.7 (31).

The Toronto Dingos are encouraging all fans, family & alumni to get down to Colonel Samuel Smith Oval and cheer on the mighty Dingos as they look to end a 19-year premiership drought. The game starts at 12pm EST, with the Womens+ game to follow (Ottawa Swans vs. Hamilton Wildcats).
