Dingos Return From Hamilton Victorious

Hot and humid conditions, and a physical Wildcats team weren't enough to slow the Dingos on their current run of form, defeating the Wildcats 20.9 (129) to 03.04 (22).

The midfield of Matteo Lugarini, Brayden Beks, Keegan Hogarth & Chris Jepsen, continued the dominant form that has now become a trademark of Dingos footy. Along side the midfield, a backline featuring two first year Dingos (Oli Howell & Mark Bergman) as well as captain Mike Bocian & vice-captain Brad Wooten remained stingy, giving their opponents limited opportunities to score.

The game got off to a somewhat slow start for the Dingos, who needed to get acclimated with the slightly different ground dimensions. Forward Ben Sinclair opened the goal scoring account for the day alongside Jax Ian scoring three goals between, whilst the Dingos defense kept the Wildcats goalless in the first quarter.

Now adapted, the Dingos put on a scoring clinic in the second quarter with everyone getting involved. Black Lab Man Of The Match, Greg Gilbert, who spent the first quarter incepting balls on the half back line, moved forward to nab his third goal of the season. Sincas & Beksy put on 5 goals between them as Keegan Hogarth also got forward for a major to send the Dingos into the main break with a 56-point lead.

The second half saw a similar story to the first, with the Dingos not letting up and continuing to pile on the goals. Defender Chris Jepsen moved forward to snag a couple of goals with Tom Bell also grabbing a major in his first game of the year.

The backline continued to repel would be Wildcat attacks throughout the last quarter, allowing them limited opportunities to get on the scoreboard. New Dingos Oli Howell & Mark Bergman were the epitome of this effort, continuing their run and scrap to every contest to ensure no easy goals were allowed.
