Dingos say farewell to Ben Oryall and Edsardt Heuberger as the 2010 season comes to a close

The Toronto Dingos came into the final round of the regular season missing some starters but full of confidence, having won their last 5 in a row. The result wasn't going to impact the standings, but the boys wanted to keep the momentum going. However the Blues had other ideas, as they dominated the game from the get go. Final score: 20.9.129 to 2.1.13. The Dingos have a week off, and then face the Guelph Gargoyles to start their finals campaign. Also, the Dingos say goodbye to Ben Oryall and Edsardt Heuberger who have quickly enderaed themselves to the club with their strong play. From all the boys, we would like to wish you both good luck in your travels and hope to see you back in the Red and Black in the future!

Spider makes it to 50

This weekend's matchup between old rivals the Toronto Downtown Dingos and Toronto Rebels will mark the 50th game for Dingos player Everett “Spider” Wells. Joining the Dingos in 2006, Spider made a quick impact, coming second in rookie-of-the-year voting for the club. Since then, Spider’s play and confidence on the field have grown steadily and in 2010 he has taken over as Centre Half-Forward for the Dingos, a key position which often pits him against the best defenders on opposing OAFL clubs.

Spider becomes the 21st Dingo in club history to reach the 50th game plateau and the 15th Canadian. In addition, Spider becomes the third Wells brother to achieve this distinction with the Dingos, joining older brothers Bryan (51 games) and Dave (73 games), the first time three brothers have achieved this feat in the OAFL.

The Toronto Dingos would like to congratulate Spider and we look forward to celebrating your 100th game in a few years.

Division II - Season 2010

For the 2010 OAFL season, the Toronto Dingos will be increasing their on field presence with the addition of a Division II team vying for the Mike Pyke cup. As a result we are looking for new players to fill roster spots on both the Division I and Division II teams. The introduction of the Division II team opens up the opportunity for new players who are looking to learn the sport and players on the cusp of playing for the Division I team to play the game. It also allows experienced players to continue playing Aussie rules in a fun and social environment whilst helping with the development of upcoming players.

If you are interested in playing for the Dingos please contact Craig Stewart.
