The Toronto Dingos are heading to the Jays

The Blue Jays home opener is Monday, April 12th (versus the Chicago White Sox) and once again the Dingos will be organizing a group to go to the game. This is part of a larger group that is looking to get 800 people attending. Last year we had 50 tickets sold and we're looking to equal that this year.

Family, friends, wives, girlfriends...all are welcome! We will be purchasing 100-level tickets for $55 each and for this price you get : a 100-level seat (outfield behind opposing bullpen for heckling) and a "I love BJs" t-shirt to wear to the game.

The Dingos's have reserved a block of ticket's, however those are already nearly sold out. Anyone interested in attending this great event should contact David Wells.

Division II - Season 2010

For the 2010 OAFL season, the Toronto Dingos will be increasing their on field presence with the addition of a Division II team vying for the Mike Pyke cup. As a result we are looking for new players to fill roster spots on both the Division I and Division II teams. The introduction of the Division II team opens up the opportunity for new players who are looking to learn the sport and players on the cusp of playing for the Division I team to play the game. It also allows experienced players to continue playing Aussie rules in a fun and social environment whilst helping with the development of upcoming players.

If you are interested in playing for the Dingos please contact Craig Stewart.

Dingos Statistics Updated

The Dingos have updated the statistics page of the website. Some interesting things to note from this seasons changes:

  • Only one player cracked the top-20 list for goals or games all-time this year. That player was Bob Clarke, whose 30 goals puts him at 19th all time on the list. Congratulations Bobby!
  • Chris Buczkowski has surpassed legendary Dingo Paul Tinkler as the second leading goal kicker of all time.
  • Two Dingos, Chris Buczkowski and Bob Clarke reached the 100 game mark this season. Chris Buczkowski now qualifies for life membership.
  • Two Dingos are on the verge of making it an even 50 goals for their careers.
  • Three Dingos (Jake, Rick, Shawy) are on the cusp of reaching the 100 game plateau next season. Two Players (Kevin, Spider) are on the verge of making it 50.

Check out the statistics page for all the exciting details.

  • Dingos 2009 Season Awards Night

The Dingos held their annual year-end awards banquet on Friday, October 23rd at Cam's Place. After going through the votes for each game played this year, the silverware was handed out. Coach Mick McFarlane took out the 2009 Best and Fairest award last Friday night, pipping Matt Eddy at the finish line by one vote. Both players had stellar seasons, but McFarlane(107 votes) finished on top claiming his third medal in as many seasons.

Andrew Anderson(93 votes) won best Canadian with Yoni Moussadji coming in second on 72 votes. Tom Bell and Steve Lanning tied for Best Rookie on 63 votes a piece. It was quite fitting as they both capped off sensational seasons as first time players.

The night was highlighted by two of the clubs stalwarts – Stu Wallis and Craig Stewart – who were awarded life membership for their hard work and service to the Dingos Football Club.

Congratulations goes out to all of this year's winners:

    Canadian B&F Andrew Anderson
    Leading goalkicker Chris Buczkowski
Rookie of the Year Steve Lanning
